Pathway+

Pathway+ is our enhanced progression programme for young people who need additional support to move into education, employment, or training. Learners can work towards Functional Skills and GCSE qualifications, achieve ASDAN Employability Awards and Certificates, take part in meaningful work placements, and receive personalised job coaching to help them achieve positive outcomes.

What does Pathway+ include?

Each learner’s programme is individually designed but may include:

Personalised coaching

Dedicated support from experienced staff who work alongside learners to identify goals, overcome barriers, and celebrate progress.

Vocational profiling and career explanation

Helping young people understand their strengths, interests and aspirations while exploring future opportunities.

Employability development

Supporting learners to develop workplace skills, behaviours, and confidence, including completion of the ASDAN Employability qualification where appropriate.

English and Maths development

Supporting learners to build confidence and achieve recognised qualifications in English and Maths, including GCSE English and GCSE Maths where appropriate

Workplace experiences

Creating opportunities for learners to gain real-life experience, develop independence and explore potential career pathways.

Employer engagement

Working with employers to create inclusive opportunities and support successful transitions into the workplace.

Progression planning

Supporting learners to identify and achieve realistic next steps, whether that is education, specialist provision, training, employment or increased independence.

This differs from our Preparation for Adulthood Pathway in that it

Supports young people who are disengaged from education, employment or training, or at risk of becoming NEET as opposed to learners whose support is linked to EHCP outcomes.

It is an intensive progression programme focusing on qualifications, work experience and a positive destination as opposed to a focus on independence, community inclusion, employment, or independent living.

Is a structured curriculum with accredited qualifications and employment support as opposed to being tailored around the Preparing for Adulthood outcomes.
